Melissa studied at Durham University where she obtained both her Master of Chemistry (MChem, 2014) and PhD (2019) degrees.
During the final year of her MChem degree she spent a year working for Solvay on the synthesis of polymers for use within carbon fibre composite materials.
Her PhD studies were focused on the synthesis of luminescent metal complexes for use within devices such as OLEDs. During her PhD she conducted a research project in Japan at the University of Kyushu where she worked on the synthesis of materials for high performance OLEDs to give red and near infrared emission.
Melissa joined E+F in 2019 as a Technical Assistant.
