At this challenging time, the staff and partners at E+F send well-wishes to all of our clients, our colleagues at other IP firms, and their families.
E+F is fully operational and we expect to remain so throughout the current crisis. The majority of us are already working from home; soon our entire staff will be doing so.
Although we are still accepting and processing correspondence by post, and are still able to receive telephone calls, email is by far the best way to contact us. Video- and audio-conferences are also available, by prior arrangement.
We are meeting all deadlines as normal, but the following provisions by IP offices may be of additional assistance:
- At the EPO, most time limits expiring on or after 15 March 2020 are extended until 02 June 2020;
- At the EUIPO, the blanket extension of all deadlines ended on 18 May 2020 (various other remedies may be available on a case-by-case basis);
- The UKIPO has declared 24 March 2020 and subsequent days to be interrupted days. This means that many deadlines falling on or after 24 March 2020 are extended until further notice. For deadlines expiring prior to 24 March, the UKIPO is willing to consider requests for extensions of time as favourably as possible, on a case-by-case basis.
