June (Ju Yeon) Han
Technical Assistant

June (Ju Yeon) Han

June (Ju Yeon) studied Biochemistry at University of Oxford (Mbiochem) before obtaining her PhD in computational developmental biology from Heidelberg University.

Her master thesis involved designing novel transcriptional and translational miRNA switches directed at gene expression modulation in synthetic biology applications. During her undergraduate studies, she was part of iGEM (international Genetically Engineered Machine) team representing University of Oxford, and engineered bacteria into living therapeutics that degrades persistent biofilms.

June’s PhD research was on investigating the mechanism of biological patterns, such as digit patterning in mouse limb development. June used a combination of transcriptomic data, modelling, and small molecule screening assay to characterise the complex system at molecular and tissue level. She also developed a novel image analysis pipeline and a culture system.

During her PhD, June won a 2nd prize in a startup competition organised by Heidelberg University. She also won LifeArc-AUTM knowledge transfer innovation fellowship, which involved training in the areas of technology valuation, licensing and negotiation.

Following a period at another IP firm, June joined E+F as a part-qualified technical assistant in January 2026.
